Meet The Hynes Team

At age 10, I visited Hynes Optometrists for my first eye exam and was seen by Joy Hynes and Linda. In fact, I still have the original paper records of the visit! The tests were fun and I remember being made welcome and feeling cared for.

Over the next few visits I met Colin Hynes and enjoyed watching how Joy, Colin and Linda worked together. They loved what they did and the level of care and attention they gave to their patients inspired me to want to become an optometrist too. 

I went to City University, trained at Moorfields Eye Hospital and qualified as an Optometrist in 2005. 

Not long after I qualified, I met Joy outside her practice and explained how she had inspired me and how much I would value working alongside her and her Team. 

Joy went home and discussed the conversation with Colin and to my surprise I was offered an opportunity to work at Hynes immediately!

Nearly 20 years later, I’m here full time. I love what I do. It doesn’t feel like work and the staff try their best to keep me away on my days off! 

Working alongside Joy has been an honour and I am forever grateful for the opportunity and freedom Colin & Joy have given me to do the best for all my patients. 

It’s also very special to have the trust to look after generations of families and being able to give them the care I would want myself.
