Orthokeratology or Ortho-k is a contact lens that gently re-shapes the front of your eye (the cornea) while you sleep. Upon removing your lenses in the morning, the precise change in shape allows you to see clearly without the need of glasses or contact lenses for the rest of the day.
The Ortho-K lens we mostly use is EyeDream.
Ortho-K lenses such as EyeDream have also been shown to slow myopia progression in many studies and over many years.
The cornea (the clear part at the front of your eye) plays a key part in achieving good vision. During sleep, EyeDream lenses use the pressure of your closed eyelids to gently reshape the cornea. When the lenses are removed, the slight flattening that EyeDream creates – less than the width of a human hair – is enough to give you crisp, clear unaided vision all day.
