Meet The Hynes Team

My journey at Hynes began in February 2014 initially as maternity cover, but here I am still doing the daily commute from Hackney, loving every day I come to work.

I met Joy Hynes at a vision care charity for homeless people where we both were volunteering. When I heard there was an opportunity to work at Hynes I was overjoyed as that didn’t happen frequently unless someone actually retired. Needless to say – I was hired!!!!

My passion for optic’s began with my children, who both had challenging visual needs and were under the care of Moorfields for most of their primary years. My urge to learn about their vision and how best to support them has been the best decision I’ve ever made.

My strength and passion is in paediatric dispensing!  Watching a child putting on spectacles and see the world around them in sharp detail makes my heart melt.

Outside of work I love taking long walks with the family discovering new sites. I also enjoy the delights of the culinary world and love sampling different cuisines. It has to be said though, my Kenyan heritage always leaves me salivating for a bit of ‘Nyama Choma’ (Barbequed meat)!!

I enjoy the volunteering sector being a people’s person. Offering my time and services to the community is priceless.
